JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a premium photo booth company located in Campbell River doing events all over Vancouver Island. We are looking to hire smart, energetic, personable, outgoing, and strong photo booth operators for weddings, corporate events, and parties.

You don’t need to be a photographer (this is a strictly non-photography position), but must be tech savvy to work your way around the computer and camera.

We will train you.

What we need:
You must be available on weekends and some weekdays but mostly Saturday evenings. This is a fun, well-paid position with long term potential. Most of our photo booth attendants have been with us for over 2+ years and are part of our family.

What months?
Our busy season is May to September and the month of December. You need to be available during these months.

Training will be provided. We will also work with you until you are comfortable on your own for events. You will be scheduled most likely 1-3 months in advance and can work anywhere from 1 event per month to 4+ depending on your availability and the number of events booked.

Customer service is the most important part of our business, and our reputation is what makes us popular.

Please note:
We are a premium service and can’t afford to train anyone who is not willing to travel 1-2 hours to each event or unable to work at least 2 events a month. We are looking for dedicated attendants that will be with us for at least 12 months.

Responsibilities will include:

  • ­Driving from our Campbell River studio to the event location (Campbell River to Duncan and at times Tofino)
  • Unloading photo booth equipment.
  • Setting up photo booth, props, equipment, and backdrops.
  • Ensure booth is operating correctly which includes changing printer media.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
  • Staying on­ site to assist guests
  • If not onsite - you will drop off equipment, set it up, return later that evening to pickup.
  • Sometimes assisting guests with a photo guest book.
  • Tearing down, loading and driving equipment back to our studio
  • Events run 4-10 hours depending on location.
  • You get paid per event including travel time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • ­Must be very punctual and responsible. You must be on ­time at every event. No exceptions.
  • Must love going to parties and fun events!
  • Must be good at communicating via email/text/phone to get your schedule and event information
  • Must be available and able to work Saturdays, and other days of the week sometimes.
  • Must be friendly, extroverted, engaging and outgoing. We want to give our clients a fun and great experience, which includes your smile and demeanor.
  • Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs easily.
  • On your feet for about 2-4 hours
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. (you will drive our trucks or you may use your own car for smaller booths (we reimburse fuel etc)
  • Must be PC tech savvy to troubleshoot computers and cameras when something goes wrong. We can help via phone but you need to have PC skills.
  • Must be professional, polite and dress professionally. You will represent the company. Attire will be provided.
  • Must be able to calmly handle stressful situations and all types of crowds from small children to unruly adults.
  • Must be willing to travel outside of Campbell River. 

INFORMATION

So How Does It Work?
We have an online calendar that you will use to update your availability. We will call you and send you a list of upcoming events available and we will assign the ones that suit you. These events are a mixture of weddings, engagements, birthday parties and corporate functions. Once you are selected for an event, you will receive an email with all the information, start time, end time, client details and complete address.

The booths are picked up from our studio in Campbell River and and you will drive to the event. You must be comfortable with driving. They are easy to maneuver and requires some heavy lifting. Although our packaged booth are easy to manoeuvre, you'll need to be able to lift some items to waist height.

So What Will I Be Doing?
1. Delivering the booth one hour or more before the event hire period begins.
2. Setting up the booth (training provided).
3. Be an amazingly fun attendant for the booth for the duration of the event providing friendly, customer service.
4. Pack down the booth at the end of the event and return to Campbell River.

Sounds Great! How Will I Get Paid?
​Pay is per event and generally between $25-$40/hr. You get paid from the moment you pick up the booth at our studio up until you drop off the booth after the event. If you use your own car (smaller booths) we also account for mileage and parking.

A short event would be a 3 hour local event and long event can run up to 10-12 hours.

What Should I Wear?
Black pants and we give you a branded shirt is generally fine. Comfortable shoes is a big plus! We will always let you know if you need to dress up for the occasion.

  • Reliable and shows up on time. You can't be late for a wedding.
  • Can plan months in advance and will not cancel the appointment.
  • Professional, well spoken, polished, well presented and understands our luxury brand
  • Bubbly, engaging, friendly and helpful
  • Enjoys events, parties and weddings
  • Enjoys photography and wants to learn more
  • PC and understands how to operate a PC, change printer paper etc...
  • Able to think and troubleshoot if things happen
  • Loves driving alone and all over the island (bring a friend if you like)
  • Independent but can also be a team player
  • Dedicated, dependable and hardworking
  • Able to work Saturdays and at least 1 event a week but ideally 2-3 events per week.
